Presentation

The Chair of Education and Intangible Heritage of the Pyrenees - which has the support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Institute for Development and Promotion of Alt Pirineu i Aran (IDAPA), and the Institut d'Ilerdencs Estudis (IEI) -, was approved on June 29, 2016 by the Government Council of the University of Lleida.

Its main objective is to safeguard the intangible heritage of the Pyrenees, developing research projects, global educational actions and dissemination tasks. These actions aim to promote critical and scientific thinking as well as to become a guarantor for the construction of both personal and social identity.

It wants to contribute to the local development and the promotion of programs that make the intangible heritage worthwhile, collaborating with institutions of the territory, organizations of similar spaces and other universities.

The actions that are carried out are included in three areas: the Falles festival, Haros and Brandons, and everything that revolves around the Espai Natura and the (Per) Vivicionsculturals of Lleida’s Pyrenees.
